Kahuna David Kaonohiokala "Daddy" Bray
David Kaonohiokala Bray, also known as Daddy Bray, was a publically practicing native Hawaiian Kahuna.
Together with Douglas Low, he authored the book Kahuna Religion of Hawaii.
He also taught parts of his teachings to certain non-Hawaiian people. (I believe that Jack and Josephine Gray, or Clark Wilkerson might have been amongst his students.)

There is a chapter about Daddy Bray in Hawaiian Lomilomi:
Big Island Massage book by Nancy S. Kahalewai, isbn 0967725305.
Charlotte Berney has a small passage The Teachings of David Kaonohiokala Bray within the Kahuna Tradition in PROCEEDINGS OF THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE STUDY OF SHAMANISM & ALTERNATE MODES OF HEALING, September 5-7, 1987, Santa Sabina Center, San Rafael, CA .
Unconfirmed story from http://com1.runboard.com/bhuna101.fmainchat.t66 (direct link doesn't work anymore, board entry gate is http://www.runboard.com/bhuna101 ). Please take with a big pinch of salt. David Bray was from an ancient kahuna lineage, no matter what those people, reputedly hiring him in the below story (if that ever happened), were thinking they were doing:
"The story was that in the late 1920s or early 1930s there was a hotel built in Hawaii, and they could not get any Hawai'ians to work for the hotel because the hotel wad not been blessed by a kahuna. The owners said fine; just ask one of your kahuna to bless the hotel; and no go because they were afraid the kahuna would be persecuted for practising the old ways; so they tried to find a kahuna to bless the hotel and no go. They finally went to meet with MFL to see if he knew any kahuna; again the answer was no, that he did not know any kahuna at the time; but said he DID have the blessing chant if that would help them. So they found David K. Bray because of his weird appearance, and they paid him $50 to memorize and perform the blessing chant so the Hawai'ians would work there."
And yes, as I later pointed out in the comments below, this is mainly included to stir up some interesting comments, particularly about those who know ... (Yes I'm quite daring, but if someone from Bray family could actually and correct anything, or add more, I'd be honoured. I'd be ammending this mini article as time goes and comments flow.)
